  6. Customers' interests - A firm must pay due regard to the interests of its customers and treat them fairly.
  7. Communications with clients - A firm must pay due regard to the information needs of its clients, and communicate information to them in a way which is clear, fair and not misleading.
  8. Conflicts of interest - A firm must manage conflicts of interest fairly, both between itself and its customers and between a customer and another client.
  9. Customers: relationships of trust - A firm must take reasonable care to ensure the suitability of its advice and discretionary decisions for any customer who is entitled to rely upon its judgment.
  10. Clients' assets - A firm must arrange adequate protection for clients' assets when it is responsible for them.
  11. Relations with regulators - A firm must deal with its regulators in an open and cooperative way, and must disclose to the appropriate regulator appropriately anything relating to the firm of which that regulator would reasonably expect notice.

It is the UK trade body for companies engaged in vehicle rental, leasing and fleet management. On behalf of its 900+ member organisations, the BVRLA works with governments, public sector agencies, industry associations, consumer groups and other stakeholders across a wide range of road transport, environmental, taxation, technology and finance-related issues. BVRLA members are responsible for a combined fleet of almost five million cars, vans and trucks on UK roads, that’s 1-in-8 cars, 1-in-5 vans and 1-in-5 trucks. The vehicle rental and leasing industry supports over 465,000 jobs, adds £7.6bn in tax revenues and contributes £49bn to the UK economy each year.

BVRLA membership provides customers with the reassurance that the company they are dealing with adheres to the highest standards of professionalism and fairness. The association achieves this by maintaining industry standards and regulatory compliance via its mandatory code of conduct, inspection programme and government-approved alternative dispute resolution service.

As a BVRLA leasing broker member, Butlers Vehicle Solutions Ltd agree to abide by the following 10 principles that are contained within the BVRLA Leasing Broker Code Of Contact:-

  1. To provide clear pricing for all products and services sold via any sales channel, printed or digital, which promotes a members products.
  2. Not to misrepresent any information about their products or services.
  3. To behave at all times with integrity and ensure that any agents working on their behalf also follow the standards set out in this code of conduct.
  4. To understand and comly with all rules and regulations relating to the service or product provided.
  5. To provide customers with the information they need to make an informed decision about the procudt/service offered.
  6. To operate from an established place of business that is maintained to a professional standard.
  7. Not to use any advertising material containing misleading or inaccurate statements and to comply  with the codes and standards set by the regulators.
  8. To rsolve customer complaints according to the standards set out in this code of conduct.
  9. To ensure that employees, where appropriate, are adequately trained to a standard that enables them to adhere to this code of conduct.
  10. To display the BVRLA logo.
